VAS Hanoi provides an enriched teaching environment with a student centred approach to learning. Each student is encouraged to use both initiative and creativity in their study.

Classes consist of 15 to 25 students. Each year group is divided according to the students’ ability. This division of classes is used for two core subject areas: natural sciences and social sciences (the so-called V classes), English and the Cambridge and International (the so-called A classes) programs. This enables teachers to choose the most suitable teaching approach for each level and thus better cater for all students.

Students at VAS Hanoi are introduced to new teaching methodologies in conjunction with innovative and effective lessons through the use of electronic media. Students gain knowledge through different activities such as group work, research and collaboration; presentation and discussion; question asking aingnd problem solving.

Students’ results and progress are updated monthly on the online student management program. Students and parents can login to the program from any location with internet connection to view teachers' comments and results. Additionally, teachers, students and parents can communicate through the school’s email accounts.

Through their preparation in a wide range of academic, cultural and sporting activities, VAS Hanoi students gain the skills, knowledge and understanding, attitudes and values they need to move confidently into tertiary study programs or the work force, and to become responsible contributors to their community.
