Recently, Year 9 students conducted a project in Maths, named “How to plan and collect data the right way”. In this project, students chose topics and then they had to form precise and specific questions to ask and get answers (data).
The data was collected by interviewing students in different classes and grades randomly throughout the school. They then analyzed the data and chose which graph or display would be best to show their data. Finally they prepared presentations in which each group showed its survey result in front of their classmates and their teacher.
This project brought many advantages to our students. They became more confident in giving their opinions and communicating with others. It enhanced different skills such as problem solving, critical thinking, presentation and teamwork.
