Excitement in the Air: BACK TO SCHOOL - VAS Hanoi Embarks on the 2024–2025 Journey

19/12/2024

A new journey begins in a fresh, cheerful atmosphere. Early in the morning, the radiant faces of students, parents, and teachers, along with warm handshakes and bright smiles, filled VAS Hanoi with joy and excitement. This vibrant energy marked the "Back to School" day as the community came together to welcome the start of the 2024–2025 academic year.

After a summer break to recharge, the return to school is a time of anticipation for teachers, nostalgia among old friends, and a mix of excitement and nervousness for new students. A wide range of emotions were shared between teachers and VASers during these moments of re. Alongside warm greetings and the lively sharing of exciting summer stories and unforgettable experiences, there were also the "first-time wonders" of new VASers stepping into a new chapter of their educational journey.

The "Back to School" program kicked off with an energetic performance by the professional dancers of VAS Hanoi, setting an exciting tone for the event as the school welcomed its “new recruits.” With guidance from homeroom teachers, young students from Preschool, Pre-Primary, Grade 1, Grade 6, and Grade 10 were introduced amidst enthusiastic applause from the Board of Directors, teachers, and the entire student body.

“Seeing the bright, radiant faces of our students fills us with new energy,” shared Ms. Quách Minh Hương, Principal of the Vietnam-Australia Primary School in Hanoi. “This school year holds countless exciting surprises waiting for you. What are they? Let’s discover them together! I hope you will always keep your passion for learning, exploring, and conquering new journeys and challenges.”

To give VASers a truly relaxing and enjoyable experience while recharging with positive energy, preparing for the journey of knowledge in the new school year, VAS Hanoi organized an exciting series of physical activities and games. VASers had to overcome various stations to earn a “Passport,” symbolizing their commitment to successfully completing the 2024–2025 school year.

  • One of the stations, "Vision", emphasized that success requires a plan. VASers were encouraged to set clear goals for the school year and were reminded that with the support of their teachers and parents, they would be well on their way to achieving these goals.
  • At the "Adaptability" station, VASers learned the importance of being flexible and actively participating in extracurricular and project-based activities. They were encouraged to adapt to changes and explore creative and engaging lessons with their teachers.
  • The "Self-Confidence" station focused on shedding shyness, empowering VASers to boldly express themselves and pursue their passions and interests with confidence.
  • At the "Exploration" station, VASers embraced their curiosity and enthusiasm for discovery, excited to learn new things and gain knowledge from their teachers and peers.
  • Finally, at the "Responsibility" station, VASers were reminded of the importance of responsibility in their journey of acquiring knowledge. They were encouraged to strive to become responsible individuals who contribute to their families, communities, and society at large.

After completing the challenge stations, VASers returned to their classrooms to get acquainted with their teachers and classmates. Even the smallest changes—such as a new desk arrangement, a different seating partner, or a new homeroom teacher—brought a sense of novelty and excitement for each student. For new students, the presence and encouragement from the Board of Directors and the International Program management team helped them feel more enthusiastic and prepared for a school year that would be quite different from the previous level.

As part of the Back to School event, the primary school division at VAS Hanoi launched a book donation drive. Each student was encouraged to donate at least one book to the "Flood-Free Library," which would be sent to students in Bru - Vân Kiều, Trung Sơn village, Trường Sơn commune, Quảng Ninh district, Quảng Bình province, to help ease their challenges for the new school year.

The Board of Directors and teachers, together with the new VASers, created a special gift to mark the beginning of this new chapter. The image of a tree with branches gradually filling with colorful leaves, made from the fingerprints of teachers and VASers, symbolized unity and a vibrant, promising start for the 2024–2025 academic year.

The entire faculty, staff, and students worked together to create a lively, joyful, and joyful start to the school year. Let’s continue to support and accompany Vietnam-Australia Hanoi to discover the exciting, new, and engaging experiences of the VAS Hanoi 2024–2025 journey.
