The seamless collaboration between Vietnamese and international teachers has long been a cornerstone of VAS Hanoi’s bilingual integrated program. In preparation for the new school year, a regular exchange meeting between the two teaching teams took place in an open and inspiring atmosphere.
Together, teachers:
Unified strategies for classroom management and student support
Shared best practices in assessment and learning activities
Discussed the implementation of flipped classrooms and interdisciplinary projects
Strengthened the triangle connection among parents, students, and teachers
These conversations went beyond pedagogy — they were strategic synchronizations, ensuring that all students, regardless of language of instruction, access a coherent and values-based curriculum.
At VAS Hanoi, we believe that effective communication is the key to smooth and successful education. During the workshop "Communicating with Intention" led by expert Johnny Harris, teachers and staff had the opportunity to restructure how they see themselves and their communication styles at work.
Beyond listening and sharing skills, the team also:
Identified unconscious biases in daily interactions
Viewed colleagues through a new, empathetic lens
Reaffirmed the belief that every dialogue can spark positive change
The result is not just stronger bonds among staff, but also a collective energy to inspire students and parents through genuine, mindful communication.
As students grow older, they express less through words—but that doesn’t mean they need less understanding. Recognizing this, VAS Hanoi organized a training session on psychological assessment for Secondary teachers.
Through real-life scenarios, teachers learned how to:
Observe non-verbal cues such as eye contact and behavior
Detect subtle emotional shifts
“Listen” not through questions, but through presence and professional sensitivity
This was not just a skills session, but a paradigm shift: from managing students to walking alongside them with humanity and timeliness.
Beyond emotional intelligence, VAS Hanoi teachers also received subject-specific training, especially in Literature at the Lower Secondary level — a critical subject in national exams.
Led by Dr. Tran Dang Nghia (Hanoi Department of Education and Training), the workshop enabled teachers to:
Grasp the principles of assessment reform
Analyze real test formats and effective question design
Build review plans aligned with students’ skills and learning capacity
This is a structured, long-term move to build teacher expertise and ensure a stable, high-quality, and up-to-date learning system that meets national innovation requirements.
Understanding that effective education relies on strong school-family cooperation, VAS Hanoi organized two thematic conferences for Primary and Secondary parents and homeroom teachers.
Key topics included:
Strengthening collaboration between parents and teachers for consistent support
Emphasizing the homeroom teacher as a “trusted adult” and mentor
Aligning classroom management between Vietnamese and international teachers
Creating a structured but flexible classroom environment
Practicing respectful communication to foster a civilized, inclusive school culture
This is a necessary step toward a three-dimensional educational ecosystem, where students, families, and the school walk hand-in-hand.
From professional development and team alignment to student well-being and parent partnerships, VAS Hanoi is entering the 2025–2026 school year with a fresh, proactive, and purpose-driven mindset.
At the heart of this journey lies a core value: trust and unity between people — among educators, between teachers and students, and between the school and families.
And that is precisely what will make this school year not just “new”, but more powerful and more meaningful than ever before at VAS Hanoi.
