About the Role

VAS Hanoi is seeking an experienced, motivated and passionate Mathematics teacher to join our Secondary Department. The position is offered on a one-year contractual basis, with the potential for further extension.

The successful candidate will teach across Cambridge Lower Secondary (Stage 9), IGCSE Mathematics, and an Australian Mathematics programme. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the continued development of both our Cambridge and Australian curriculum pathways.

We are looking for a teacher who:

• Has experience teaching IGCSE and/or Australian Mathematics (preferable), or an equivalent high school mathematics programme
 • Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and a commitment to academic excellence
 • Can differentiate effectively to support a range of learners, including ESL students
 • Is enthusiastic about curriculum development and collaborative planning
 • Is committed to fostering a positive, inclusive and academically ambitious classroom environment

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality Mathematics lessons aligned with Cambridge and Australian curriculum frameworks
 • Contribute to the development and refinement of Schemes of Work
 • Differentiate instruction to meet varied student needs
 • Monitor and assess student progress through formative and summative assessment
 • Provide clear, constructive written and verbal feedback to students and parents
 • Maintain high expectations for behaviour and academic achievement
 • Participate in department meetings, professional development and school events
 • Contribute to extracurricular activities and the wider life of the school
 • Uphold safeguarding and child protection standards at all times

Requirements

• Native-level English speaker. Candidates must possess native-level English proficiency (both written and spoken). Vietnamese nationals with exceptional, near-native English fluency are highly encouraged to apply.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or a related field
• Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE with QTS, Teaching License, or Bachelor of Education in Mathematics)
• Minimum of 2 years’ professional teaching experience (post-qualification)
• Experience teaching IGCSE, Australian (preferable) or another recognised high school mathematics curriculum
• Experience teaching ESL learners is highly desirable
• Strong classroom management and communication skills

Desirable

• Experience in bilingual or international school settings
• Experience with examination classes and public exam preparation
• A Master’s degree in Education or Mathematics
