FROM SMALL STEPS TO A SUSTAINABLE JOURNEY OF GROWTH IN PRIMARY EDUCATION

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Quách Minh Hương, Principal of Vietnam–Australia Primary School Hanoi, shared her pride in witnessing the students’ day-by-day growth throughout Semester I. According to her, what brings teachers the greatest joy lies not only in academic results, but also in the positive changes in students’ awareness, attitudes, and ways of living.“We are truly happy to see our students persevere through each step of daily progress—becoming more self-disciplined in their learning, more confident in using English for everyday communication, more mindful of personal hygiene and environmental protection, and more willing to share and support the community.”

Semester I captured the image of VAS Primary students passionately exploring knowledge in every lesson, their eyes shining with the joy of reading, and their growing confidence as they challenged themselves in academic arenas and competitions, earning encouraging achievements.

Across the school, 266 students were awarded the title of Outstanding Student and 98 students were recognized as Excellent Students, along with 6 International academic awards and 91 National academic awards-impressive figures that reflect the dedication and efforts of VASers throughout Semester I.

Alongside the development of knowledge and academic excellence, lessons in compassion and a sense of responsibility have been nurtured daily by teachers and the school community. This is reflected in students’ meaningful actions—joining hands to support flood-affected communities and showing care for underprivileged children suffering from congenital heart disease at the National Children’s Hospital. Through the charity art project “Colors of Love,” VASers raised over VND 180 million to support heart surgery expenses for these young patients. “Striving to become a better version of yourself each day is far more important than simply being satisfied with what you already have. Be confident in ‘writing’ your own story. Don’t be afraid of making mistakes, because every effort is an opportunity to ‘upgrade’ yourself and shine in your own unique way,” shared Ms. Quách Minh Hương in her mid-year address.

“CODING YOURSELF” – A GUIDING PRINCIPLE FOR THE SECONDARY JOURNEY

At the lower and upper secondary levels, Semester I of the 2025–2026 academic year was carried out under the theme “Coding Yourself” - a journey in which each student actively programs their own mindset, learning attitudes, life skills, and aspirations for personal growth in an ever-changing world. More than just a slogan, this theme has truly become a guiding principle for all educational activities across the school.

This commitment was clearly reflected in the school’s impressive academic outcomes: 199 students were awarded the title of Outstanding Student, 192 students were recognized as Excellent Students, and many others demonstrated remarkable progress in their learning journeys. In addition, VAS Hanoi students made their mark in both national and international academic arenas, earning nearly 80 awards across a wide range of fields, including academics, science and technology, sports, arts, and global skills.

Beyond achievements, Semester I was also a rich journey of experiences, featuring well-structured extracurricular activities, project-based learning, career orientation programs, arts, and sports. Through these opportunities, students strengthened teamwork and problem-solving skills, gained deeper self-awareness, and nurtured a strong sense of responsibility toward the community.

Reflecting on the journey so far, Ms. Vũ Thùy Hương, Principal of the Secondary School, shared: “The achievements of Semester I are a testament to the students’ efforts, the dedication of our teachers, and the valuable trust and partnership of our parents.” 

As the school moves into Semester II—a pivotal phase with many important goals, especially for graduating cohorts—VAS Hanoi hopes that every VASer will continue to embrace a proactive mindset, dare to set higher goals, challenge themselves, and strive continuously for self-improvement.

With the solid foundation built in Semester I, together with the steadfast support of families and the school, VAS Hanoi is confident that its students will continue to shine-writing new, inspiring “lines of code” for their own journey of growth in Semester II and beyond.
