Launching VAS Hanoi Innovation Season 2025

“Every idea - a line of code for the future of learning”. Innovation Season 2025 "Code the Future of Learning - Creative Teaching & Experiential Learning" at VAS Hanoi embraces the spirit of Coding Yourself, where every teacher and student becomes a “programmer” of their own journey of learning and growth. Innovation Season is not only a platform to ignite creativity, but also to unleash individual potential, turning ideas into real innovations in the classroom, connecting communities, and generating practical values. Together, we will write the source code for a future of learning that is innovative, humane, and sustainable.

REGULATIONS

1. Purpose & Significance

  • Welcoming the 19th academic year, VAS Hanoi not only teaches creatively but also inspires teachers and students to unleash their individual potential.

  • Encourage teachers to foster creativity in teaching and experiential activities.

  • Build an open environment for idea-sharing, improving teaching quality, and spreading positive impacts to students.

  • Strengthen collaboration between Vietnamese and international teachers and staff.

2. Eligibility

  • Interdisciplinary / inter-grade groups including both Vietnamese and international teachers.

  • Joint projects co-implemented by Vietnamese and international teachers.

  • Group size: 2-3 teachers, staff

* Organizing Committee members may not join the competition

3. Participation Format

3.1 Project Proposal

Groups may choose one or a combination of the following forms:

  • Talk / Workshop: Sharing session (maximum 60 minutes).
  • Applied Research: With survey data and feasible improvement proposals.
  • School-based Project: Integrated lessons, innovative assessment methods, clubs, events, VAS Hanoi community-building activities, improving the quality of school services, events, and internal communications, or other aspects of school life.
  • Online Products: Learning platforms, educational videos, podcasts.
  • EdTech Innovations: AI applications, learning software with explanation.
  • Interdisciplinary Projects: Connecting subjects to create rich learning experiences.

3.2 Project Concept Note Template

A. Requirements for Project Type

(Groups may propose adjustments suitable to their product or report format)

Type

General Requirements

Talk / Workshop

- Max. 60 minutes.

- Clear message, methodology, and tools.

- Interactive component (Q&A / discussion).

Short Research

- 5-7 pages (A4, Times New Roman / Arial, size 12, spacing 1.5).

- Survey data (at least 30 students/parents/teachers).

- Practical improvement proposals for teaching & learning.

School-based Project

- Implemented with at least 30 students or a full class.

- Clear description of idea, objectives, plan, and expected results.

- Format: integrated lesson / club / new assessment method / school event / community activity.

- 5-10 page report with evidence (photos, etc.).

Online (Platform / Video / Podcast)

- Learning platform: Demo or pilot model with at least 50 users.

- Educational video: 5-10 mins, with clear script & narration.

- Podcast: 15-20 mins, good audio quality, scripted. Series of at least 3 episodes.

EdTech Innovation

- AI application / software / learning support tool.

- 3-5 page explanatory note: functions, applications, target users.

- If demo/prototype, include user guide video.

Interdisciplinary Project

- Involving at least 2 subjects.

- 3-5 page description: idea, objectives, interdisciplinary process, student impact.

- Implementation evidence with at least 20 students.

B. Concept Note Template

(Teachers do not need to include all suggested sections below)

+ Project Title

  • Project name
  • Please list the members, group name, roles, and responsibilities 
  • Guiding question: Does the title reflect the project’s goal?

+ Problem Statement

  1. Identify the issue or gap in teaching/learning activities to be addressed.
  • Can include data, observations, or specific examples.
  • Guiding questions: What challenges are students/teachers facing? How does this issue affect learning quality or experience? What happens if it remains unresolved?

+ Objectives (Specific)

  • Clearly describe the final outcomes the project aims to achieve.
  • Guiding questions: What changes/improvements do you expect? Are objectives clear and specific?

+ Expected Outcomes (Measurable)

  • Define measurable results (new knowledge, skills, student products, teaching methods, behavioral change, tools, etc.).
  • Guiding questions: What tangible achievements will be shown? How will success be measured (tests, student products, feedback, statistics, etc.)?

+ Key Activities (Achievable)

  • List major steps/activities.
  • Guiding questions: What will you do step by step? Who is involved? Are activities feasible with available time and resources?

+ Technology or Innovation Applied

  • Explain tools, technology, or methods used and why they are suitable.
  • Guiding questions: What new tech/methods will you apply? Why is this approach different or better?

+ Timeline (Time-bound)

  • Define milestones from preparation to implementation and completion
  • Guiding questions: When does it start? How long will each activity last? When will the first results appear?

+ Resources Required

  • List equipment, software, documents, expert support, budget, etc
  • Guiding questions: What resources are essential? Who will support or collaborate?

+ Risks & Mitigation

  • Identify potential challenges and coping strategies.
  • Guiding questions: What could delay or hinder success? How will you prepare?

+ Team Roles

  • Define responsibilities of each member
  • Guiding questions: Who is in charge of what? Has everyone committed to their role and time?

FAQ

Staff and teachers may send their questions to the Organizing Committee. The Committee will compile all questions and provide a collective response on September 16, 2025. 

30/09/2025

Round 1: Submit the Concept Note

Groups submit the Concept Notes outlining ideas, objectives, target groups, methods, and expected outcomes.

01/10/2025-03/10/2025

Preliminary

Organizing Committee reviews and selects Top 15 potential projects for Round 2.

04/10 - 31/10/2025

Round 2: Peer Review

Top 15 projects receive feedback from the Advisory Board (Board of Management, School Leadership, Heads of Department, etc.). Groups refine their projects.

01/11/2025

Submission

Detailed project implementation plan with summary.

08/11/2025

Round 3: Final

Groups present and report results before the Jury within 30 minutes.

19/11/2025

Award Ceremony

Announcement of winners, recognition, and awards during Vietnam Teachers’ Day Celebration.

  • Creativity: Novelty, uniqueness, never applied before or significantly improved.

  • Practicality: Feasibility in the school’s educational environment.

  • Impact on Learners: Ability to inspire, enhance engagement, and develop students’ knowledge and skills.

  • Scalability / Sharing: Replicable across classes and levels; sharable with other teachers.

  • Presentation & Inspiration: Clarity, appeal, and ability to inspire.
