Weekly time allocation for subjects in the Cambridge program

Thambridge IGCSE program develops students ' knowledge, understanding, and skills in the following areas:

• Subject content
• Applying knowledge and understanding to new or unfamiliar situations

• Working and communicating in English
• Impacting outcomes
• Cultural awareness

The engaging and challenging nature of the subjects helps equip students with outstanding skills, enabling them to confidently integrate into university studies, particularly for studying abroad. These skills include problem-solving, project work, teamwork, presentation skills, and critical thinking. These competencies contribute to defining the "global citizen" generation and will also be advantageous for future employment opportunities.

Starting from the 2022-2023 academic year, IELTS is included as a compulsory subject at the Vietnam-Australia School, Hanoi, with the goal of helping students achieve an IELTS score of 6.5 or higher—a prerequisite for many international universities. VAS Hanoi regularly organises IELTS workshops where domestic and international experts are invited to share experiences with the students as well as IELTS mock tests so that students will enhance their skills and confidence, particularly in speaking and writing, as they prepare for the IELTS exam.

At the end of grades 11 and 12, students take exams to obtain the IGCSE certificates for the subjects they have studied. These certificates are valid indefinitely and are recognized by English-speaking universities worldwide.
